Dropping pain on our C4 neighbours

Our C4 static today looks familiar. Checking d-scan round the system, there’s a POS with 3 unpiloted Helios (Heli-i?) and another POS with an unpiloted Orca and Chimera. I’m sure I’ve been here within the last few days.

There’s also a Raven and a Ferox on scan, neither of which at either POS. This bodes well. However, there’s only myself and Kyber online, with Kyber only able to field a Devoter Heavy Interdictor, so we decide to wait a while.

It’s fortunate we do, because the Raven switches for a Ferox as well. D-scan shows both ships off in space, so I decide to run the risk of combats. I pop probes away from d-scan range of both the POS and the BCs and narrow down their position with d-scan, getting a 5 degree hit within 4 AU. I position probes and scan away, getting both in one hit. I hastily withdraw probes, hoping I’d escaped detection and warp to the hit at 70km.

Landing reveals a cleared Ladar site, with both Feroxes harvesting Gas! In addition, similar character names indicate this may be one pilot dualboxing the ships. Excellent. I return to our C5 for a Curse whilst another alliance pilot logs on and grabs a bomber to add to Kyber’s HIC. We jump and I hit fleetwarp to the probe hit.

We drop out of warp to find nothing, the Feroxes evidently done with the site. Shit. We pull a 180 and hightail it out of d-scan range. Kyber goes afk, so our other pilot goes to scout the POS while I hold in my curse. Both Feroxes are there, so it looks like they’re done.

However, our mood soars when one of the pilots drops into a Hulk, and the other a Buzzard. The Buzzard warps off, so I grab a Helios and jump in to search for him on d-scan. I place the Buzzard uncloaked in empty space, and the Hulk is reported as warping in the same direction. Sure enough, he joins the Buzzard and mining drones are out, so it seems they’re at a Grav site.

The other pilot, GeneralJosh, swaps his scout for a Onyx and we prepare to go in when the Buzzard warps off…

To reship to a Hulk, which promptly joins the other Hulk at the site.

Looks like we need a Helios with combat probes to scan them down for the Onyx.

I have issues getting anything more than a 15 degree scan hit with my directional, so I drop the probes in the general area as Josh jumps the Onyx in.

I get them to 45%. 😦

Second hit gets them to 80%.

Third hit and bingo, 100%. I recall probes and fleetwarp myself and Josh straight to the Hulks.

We land smack bang in the middle of them. Josh bubbles up and I deploy my singular drone to plink onto the mails. We’re meeted by one of the pilots ejecting from the hulk.

Into a bubble. Good job.

The remaining hulk throws some T2 drones onto my Helios so I miss the chance to whore on the first pod as it explodes. I return to whore on the second Hulk as that also promptly blows up. Josh gets overeager and shoots the second pod before my drone reaches it, so I fail to get on that mail too.

We’re now left with just an empty hulk and a can full of ore.

Josh brings his alt over to nab the Hulk for some profit when we get it back to K-space when some sleepers drop on us. Lazy ass Hulks didn’t even clear the site. I grab a Drake, we kill the sleepers and loot the ore cans with an Iteron and return to our own C5, now a fair bit richer.

Also, it’s a Heavy Interdictor, not Interceptor. You bad.
