In my usual spirit of picking skills that look shiny, I decided last week to fly a Proteus. The reasoning for this is “FUCK TRAINING OTHER THINGS” and also that a Proteus is the king of cloaky Wormhole ambushes. Its’ primary weakness – the blaster range – is sidestepped by you being able to be well within blaster range when you decloak. Followed by a dead target. This, to put it mildly, is pretty useful.

The cloaky fits obviously do not do a tonne of DPS so I opted for the drone Engineering subsystem rather than cap recharge subsystem. I am, however, active tanked. I am not a clever man. The extra light drones do allow me to more reliably engage interceptors and bombers, especially since the subsystem gives the drones a MWD speed boost, whilst providing me with a flight of light ECM if I need to try to run away. It’s all about versatility, folks.

So with much fanfare I flew to Jita with my Cloaky Tengu, the HMS Mate, and refitted it for Class 5 PvE work (lots of buffer). After moving that home, I returned to Highsec and bought my 3rd Tech 3 ship – the HMS ShockStorm.

My subsystem skills are still training to 5, but just before training for my new ship I managed to finish training my first set of Medium Tech 2 guns – Tech 2 Medium Blasters. Score.
